Fanfoon is made for children, so we collect as little as possible. There are no ads in the app, we never track children, and we do not sell personal data.
What stays on the device
Your child's first name, age, learning preferences and progress are stored only on the device. Microphone audio in the "Say it" game is processed on the device by Apple's speech recognition and is never sent to us or anyone else.
What we receive
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If a grown-up signs in, we receive an anonymous Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, an email address. We use it only to keep purchases and progress with your account.
- Ad measurement. We advertise Fanfoon to parents. We use AppsFlyer to learn which ad led to an install or a subscription. If the grown-up allows tracking when asked, the device's advertising identifier is shared with AppsFlyer for this purpose. Nothing about your child is shared, and there are no ads inside the app.
- App usage (anonymous). We use PostHog to see which screens and games are used and to find crashes, so we can make Fanfoon better. These events carry a random ID, not a name or account, and include only coarse details such as the app language and an age band. There is no screen recording.
- Reminders. If the grown-up turns on reminders, the daily reminder is scheduled on the device. To send occasional notifications, Apple gives us an anonymous push token, which we store with PostHog. Turn reminders off in the grown-ups area or in iOS Settings at any time.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts, not payment details.
Children
Fanfoon is designed for children under 13. Account, purchase and external links are behind a grown-up check. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Deleting your data
Delete your account in the app's grown-ups area. This erases on-device data and revokes Sign in with Apple. You can also email support@fanfoon.com.
